Step 3: How to take your pet photo
Follow these simple directions to ensure a great piece of art.
Good Practices
- Take 2–4 clear, well-lit, high-resolution photos.
- Straight ahead, same level as pet, avoid angles.
- 1 to 2 frontal shots, capturing the face and front of the pet.
- 1 to 2 side shots, if there are unique markings you'd like to capture.
- Simple background, contrasting background color, so the outline of your pet can be clearly seen.
Not So Good
- Avoid blurry or dark images
- Don't use low resolution internet photos
- Don't use grainy or badly lit pictures
- Don't take from above, looking down. Get down to the same level as your pet, or up if your pet is a giraffe.
